FROM THE HIMALAYAS TO THE WORLD'S FINEST TEXTILES

Cashmere begins where few materials can.

In the high-altitude regions of Ladakh and the Himalayas, extreme winters produce fibres prized for their softness, warmth, and rarity.

Shaped by nature and refined by generations of artisans, cashmere remains one of the world's most treasured natural fibres.

Altitude Creates Exceptional Fibres

High Altitude

3,500–5,000 metres above sea level

The extreme elevations of Ladakh create the harsh conditions needed for the development of exceptionally fine and insulating cashmere fibres.

Extreme Winters

Temperatures below -30°C

To survive Himalayan winters, goats develop an ultra-fine undercoat that provides remarkable warmth while remaining incredibly lightweight.

RARE FIBRE YIELD

Only 80–150 grams per goat annually

Each animal produces only a small quantity of usable fibre each year, contributing to the rarity and value of genuine cashmere.

Hand Collected

Gathered once each spring

The soft undercoat is carefully combed by hand during the natural moulting season, preserving fibre quality and respecting traditional practices.

WHY CASHMERE IS SO RARE

Cashmere is among the rarest natural fibres in the world.

Unlike conventional wool, cashmere comes from the soft undercoat developed by goats living in some of the harshest climates on earth. Each spring, this delicate fibre is carefully collected by hand during the natural moulting season.

A single goat produces only a small amount of usable fibre each year, making genuine cashmere exceptionally scarce. Combined with generations of craftsmanship, this rarity is what gives cashmere its enduring value.

THE FINEST FIBRE IS NOT MADE. IT IS GROWN.

Fibre diameter is one of the key indicators of softness. The finer the fibre, the more luxurious the feel against the skin.

CASHMERE

14–19 microns

Ultra-fine fibre diameter creating exceptional softness against the skin.

MERINO WOOL

18–24 microns

Fine and comfortable, though noticeably less delicate than cashmere.

TRADITIONAL WOOL

25–40+ microns

More robust fibres prioritising durability over softness.

SILK

10–15 microns

Exceptionally smooth and lustrous, though less insulating than cashmere.

THE ART OF CASHMERE CRAFTSMANSHIP

EXCEPTIONAL FIBRES REQUIRE EXCEPTIONAL CRAFTSMANSHIP.

The finest cashmere begins with nature, but its transformation depends on human skill.

For generations, artisans across Kashmir and the Himalayan regions have refined techniques passed down through families, preserving knowledge that cannot be replicated by machines.

From sorting and spinning delicate fibres to weaving, finishing, and hand-detailing each piece, craftsmanship remains an essential part of what makes genuine cashmere so highly valued.

The result is not simply a textile, but an object shaped by patience, precision, and time.
